ACCREDITATION OF CERTIFICATION BODIES
Introduction
MAURITAS accredits third party certification bodies against the International standards ISO/IEC 17021-1; Conformity assessment- Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems. MAURITAS provides accreditation scheme to certification bodies that certify management systems.
Accredited certification bodies may issue certificates for a quality system (ISO 9001), an environmental management system (ISO 14001) or other management systems with specific criteria.
Accreditation provides the companies with assurance that their management systems have been audited in line with international practice and that their ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates will be recognized by their customers.
